Nature Sound Map is a website run by professional Field Recordist and Photographer Marc Anderson. The project focuses on Field Recordings from professional nature sound recordist from around the world. The Sound Map is an interactive and enjoyable way of bringing natural sounds together from many contributors all over the planet. Most of these recordings are binaural soundscapes. Recordings can range from Wolf Pups howling in Sweden to a “Bellbird Forest” in Australia.
“Immerse yourself in a pulsating insect chorus in Borneo’s tropical rainforest,
or climb the Himalayas and relax to the melodies of birdsong in an alpine meadow.
Use Nature Soundmap to discover the wonderful soundscapes and wildlife sounds
of our planet”
I am pleased to say I am one of the over ninety natural sound recordists that has contributed to this project. My Giant’s Causeway Field Recording has made it onto the Nature Sound Map – The only Field Recording from Northern Ireland.
