‘Nouvelle Vague’ celebrate the 20 year anniversary of their debut album with a live show in the Empire Music Hall, Belfast city, Northern Ireland.

Nouvelle Vague, founded by musicians Marc Collin and the late Olivier Libaux, is a bossa nova project who specialise in a unique musical fusion of post-punk and bossa nova combined with their charming french interpretation of popular songs by famous artists.

Their band name means “new wave” in French. The band released their first studio album in 2004 which includes a bossa nova stylistic cover of the 1980s classic hit ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ by ‘Joy Division’.

The band are well known for their unique cover versions of such songs like ‘Ever Fallen In Love’ by ‘The Buzzcocks, ‘A Forest’ by ‘the Cure’, ‘Teenage Kicks’ by ‘the Undertones’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ by ‘Depeche Mode’.

These classic songs feature on their first two studio albums, self-titled Nouvelle Vague in 2004 and Bande à Part in 2006.

Roll on twenty years and the band have just released a new album titled ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go?’. The album features cover versions of classic hits such as ‘You Spin Me Round’ by ‘Dead or Alive’, ‘This Charming Man’ by ‘the Smiths’, ‘Rebel Yell’ by ‘Billy Idol’ and a fun, upbeat, sultry version of “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” by London punk rockers ‘the Clash’.

The new album “Should I Stay Or Should I Go?” features the wonderful talents of musicians, performers and vocalists ‘Alonya, Bijou, élodie frégé and Marine Quéméré.
